Bootcamp #2: Maze Game
A downloadable game
Welcome to the second official project of the Corkboard Studio Developer Bootcamp!
This is the second of four planned games I will be making to broaden my understanding of my game engine of choice, GameMaker. This self-designed bootcamp is my public journey to build the skills necessary to develop my flagship project, Of Mice and Tales.
For this project, I'm building a classic maze-style game. If the first bootcamp project was about mastering real-time, physics-based action, this one is focused on a completely different, but equally crucial, set of skills: grid-based movement, simple enemy AI, and managing game state across multiple levels.
To guide me on this step of the journey, I will be following the excellent and comprehensive tutorial series created by Mr. Ridgway on YouTube.
This page will host the final, playable game, as well as the complete day-by-day devlog chronicling its creation. Follow along to see the challenges and breakthroughs as I learn how to make a new kind of game!
Thank you for following along on this next step of the journey.
